At present, offshore oil and gas production has reached a depth of 3,000 meters, where the flexible riser is the key facility connecting the surface floating structure to the seabed terminal equipment. The pressure-resistant armor layer is generally composed of two C-shaped or Z-shaped steel strips winding along the direction of nearly 90 degrees from the tube axis.
Z-shaped steel is a kind of submarine oil hose must be used in a steel belt. It is orderly wound on the outside of the hose to form a tensile armor layer of the hose. Z-shape steel is widely used in a variety of hose external winding.

1. What is Z-shaped steel?
Z-shaped steel is a special shape of steel, because its cross section shows the shape of the letter "Z", so it is named. It is a cold-rolled steel, usually formed by bending cold rolled strip. Compared with the traditional Angle steel or I-steel, Z-shaped steel has a more unique structure and performance.

2. The basic structure of Z steel
Z-shaped steel is mainly composed of the upper and lower two flanges and the middle web. The upper and lower flanges have an isosceles triangle shape, while the central web has a flat or slightly curved shape. This structure makes Z-shaped steel have high strength and rigidity, and can withstand greater pressure and weight.
